Katy Perry and Carly Rae Jepsen to present Grammy Awards â€" singing?

The latest presenters at this year’s Grammy Awards have been announced and it’s none other (why do people say that?) than Ms Katy Perry and Ms Carly Rae Jepsen.

For some reason we’re hoping that they both sing through their part in the show, in a musical theatre kind of way. One, because they’re singers and they can, and two, because it would be quite surreal.

We very much doubt that will happen, but we can dream.

Anyway, the two ladies join the ranks of Keith Urban and Faith Hill in presenting the mighty fine trophies to the lucky winners.

Carly tweeted: “Can't wait, presenting on @TheGRAMMYs Feb. 10 on @CBSTweet! #TheWorldIsListening"

By her use of exclamation marks and capital letters, we’re concluding she is excited.

Once (in 2004) when Justin was singing, he got Janet Jackson's nipple out. This probably won't happen at the Grammys though

 

Those confirmed to perform at the ceremony so far include Justin Timberlake, who is going to be a very busy boy this year â€" he’s also lined up for the Brits â€" Taylor Swift (with some revenge song or other), new daddy Elton John and Frank Ocean.

Normally the last name there wouldn’t interest us much (nothing personal Frankie, just not on our radar really). However, recently his name’s been at the forefront of our mind thanks to a certain loser named Chris Brown.

There was some kind of run-in between the two singers in car park on Sunday , which resulted in injuries and accusations. For some reason (Rihanna’s smashed up face of three years ago) we can’t help but take sides.

With any luck Frank’s attendance at the Grammys will result in Chris’ absence. It’s not really the kind of place we want to see him at because as far as we’re concerned, he doesn’t deserve to be there.

For those that have forgotten, it was on the way back from a pre-Grammys BASH that Chris decided to get his fists acquainted with Rihanna’s pretty head.

It’s remarkable how we can manage to mention that twice in one story. And even more remarkable that Rihanna has taken him back into her heart .

But, back to the Grammys of this year. Beyonce has also added a to speculation that she’ll make an appearance during her pre-Super Bowl press conference yesterday.

“Who said I was performing at the Grammys? I don’t know if I’m performing at the Grammys,” she said.

That’s a yes then. 

Beyonce may perform. Then again she may not.
