Lady Gaga has thanked fans for their support after she was forced into having surgery for a long-term hip injury that left her unable to walk.
The singer wrote on her blog: "Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you've shared with me about your lives ... you have completely blown my mind.
"As they wheeled me into surgery, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance ... sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it's even possible.â
Gaga continued: "So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road.
"I'm grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not. You have changed my life. I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives.
âIf you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything."
She was forced to cancel the remaining 21 dates of her two-year world tour Born This Way Ball.
The 26-year-old had a tear in the labrum of her right hip and she revealed that the pain was so extreme she used crutches and a wheelchair.
The singing one woman theatre show, who is rather fond of meat dresses, has been diagnosed with synovitis and a tear in her right hip requires the operation.
When she was given the upsetting news, she posted a message on Twitter and Facebook to her ridiculously dedicated fanbase (or Little Monsters as she likes to call them), which read:
âThere's an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Way Ball.
âIm so sorry. I barely know what to say. I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened.
âI've been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can't.
She continued: "I'm on crutches and occasionally using a wheelchair, but I'm okay, I promise!"
âIm devastated sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry.â
Gaga had already danced her way through 98 dates of her tour but had 21 left, which fans will receive a refund for.
The tour had racked up an estimated £104MILLION with an average attendance of over 30,000 fans.
Weâre keeping our fingers crossed her friendship with Emma will be over and sheâll back on stage in 10-inch platforms very, very soon.
