Love Actually star Hugh Grant has become a father for the second time after announcing the arrival of a baby boy.

The actor, 52, confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: ‘In answer to some journos. Am thrilled my daughter now has a brother.

'Adore them both to an uncool degree. They have a fab mum.'

Hugh and girlfriend Tinglan Hong - who is 19 years younger - already have a daughter together after welcoming their first child Tabitha in September 2011.

The actor started dating Tinglan regularly in January 2011 when they were seen kissing at a pub in Kensington, South West London.

Shortly after the birth of Tabitha in September that year, Hugh’s publicist said in a statement: “I can confirm Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl. He and the mother had a fleeting affair and, while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive.

“He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”

Hugh â€" who was infamously arrested in Hollywood in 1995 for engaging in lewd conduct with prostitute Divine Brown â€" has regularly spoken about fatherhood and his wish to have more kids. Last April the actor - worth a reported £45million - opened his heart about how the arrival of Tabitha had changed him.

Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US he said: “Everyone was right all these years, saying, “Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It cha nges your life. Now that I have a child, it is life changing. I recommend it. Get some!”

"A fleeting affair" - apparently

But he said it came as a shock when his former flame Tinglan gave birth to Tabitha. “I can’t pretend it wasn’t a little bit of a surprise,” he said.

“But it’s a very nice surprise. In fact, the baby’s name in Chinese, because the mother is Chinese, means Happy Surprise.”

“Has she changed my life? I’m not sure. Not yet. Not massively, no. But I’m absolutely thrilled to have had her, I really am.”

And two years ago - in an interview before he became a fahter - he told a Spanish TV show: ‘I have some resolutions like losing some pounds. I also need to get married and have children. I need a new house.’

And four years ago he gaver an interview to glossy magazine Vogue admitting he was ready to be a father.

“As much as I adore myself, I’m quite keen to find someone else to care about more. I remember reading a Warren Beatty quote when he finally had children and said what a relief it was not to be all me, me, me.’< /p>

The father of two has never married but dated Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years before they split in 2000.

He also dated socialite and writer Jemima Khan from 2004 to 2007.
