Kooky prankster Russell Brand has re-ignited the âSachsgate scandalâ after claiming that Jonathan Ross âdidnât give a monkeyâsâ about the row.
The controversial duo were reunited for the first time since the incident in 2008 as the scraggly-haired comic appeared as a guest on Wossyâs ITV1 chat show.
Speaking at Wednesdayâs filming, the pair discussed the prank calls which saw Ross suspended and Brand sacked by the BBC.
During the interview, Brand blurted: âI remember you said you didnât give a monkeyâs.
âYou said youâd do it again, letâs call up other treasures of British comedy.
"Letâs find the surviving Pythons and bang on their doors and go, âOh, I touched your daughterâs legâ.â
Insiders at the broadcaster say large parts of the interview will now be left on the cutting room floor as bosses frantically edit the show in time for Saturday nightâs airing.
Red-faced Ross tried to smooth over the issue before starting their interview, but was left squirming as Brand repeatedly made comments about the controversial incident.
Ross moaned: âYou left the country and left me to deal with it. Weâre going to get in trouble again.â
The pair were the subject of more than 40,000 complaints to the BBC after making prank calls to the mobile phone of Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, with Ross telling the star Brand had had sex with his granddaughter Georgina Baillie.
The pre-recorded radio show was aired and the BBC later sacked Brand and suspended Ross for three months, admitting the remarks were âgrossly offensiveâ and a âserious breach of editorial standardsâ.
The 52-year-old chat-show host said on Wednesday: âWe both regret the furore we both caused and the hurt to Mr Sachs and his family.â
But Brand, 37, went on to say he wouldnât be inviting Ross to appear at an upcoming Comic Relief benefit he is hosting, jibing: âYouâre not invited, you canât be trusted.
âWhat are you going to do? Swagger around the stage with your k**b out and claim to have had it off with everyoneâs granddaughters?â
As well as climbing across the audience, the former husband of pop star Katy Perry also boasted about his criminal record.
He said: âI used to take Persian rugs â" drugs â" but you get a headache and a criminal record. I have an impressive criminal record.â
During the 40-minute rant, Brand went on to claim a famous singer had started taking drugs again and labelled all 70s TV stars ânoncesâ.
Brand is launching a Comic Relief concert to be staged at Wembley Arena on March 6, featuring a line-up of friends which he has helped to assemble such as Noel Gallagher, Kasabian and Eddie Izzard. Brand will host the show, called Give It Up For Comic Relief, to raise money and awareness for people with drug and alcohol problems.
Former heroin addict Brand told Ross that the death of his friend Amy Winehouse had made him realise he needed to help people.
"I'd occasionally chat to her a little bit but you know what it's like if you know someone that's got a drug and alcohol problem, it's really hard if they're not ready to help them along.
"When she died it made me feel like 'you've got to do something, it's so unnecessary," he said.
Other acts on the bill for the concert - to be screened by BBC3 - include Jimmy Carr, Noel Fielding, Frankie Boyle, Emeli Sande and Jessie J.
:: The Jonathan Ross Show is screened on ITV on Saturday at 9.45 pm
