Michelle Williams has spoken about her relationship with fellow actor Jason Segel - now that she knows who he is, that is.
The Oz: The Great And Powerful actress (not to be confused with the third member of Destiny's Child) has confessed that she didn't really know who her new boyfriend was when they first started dating, although she had seen him in The Muppets movie.
Speaking in the new issue of Amercian InStyle magazine, Michelle says of her new man: "I didnât actually realize who he was before I started dating him. I mean, I saw the Muppets movie, and I thought, 'Oh, thatâs cute,' but the truth is I didnât realize he made a lot of very popular, funny movies or was on a TV show."
And that wasn't the only surprise in store for Michelle when she started dating the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star.
"I didnât realize he was so tall," she jokes about her 6'4" man.
"I thought, 'Hey, man, youâre cramping my style!' I tried wearing wedge heels for a while to compensate, but it wasnât me and I just gave up."
Having gotten past the obstacles of height and recognition, Michelle and Jason have been dating since March last year, with the actor reportedly moving in to the New York apartment Michelle shares with Matilda, her daughter with late actor Heath Ledger.
And Michelle's a little chuffed with how well their relationship has been received.
âIf people are happy about it that makes me feel good because in my head the opposite is often true â" that people fault or blame you for things,â she says.
âThatâs really painful. You wish they would just want you to be happy, for your kid to be happy, and for you to have a good life and do good work.â
She adds: âAny kind sentiment that the world can feed back, well, I wonât turn it down.â
Michelle also admits to being a bit of a homemaker, saying: âI cook and clean a lot these days. Iâm in a very domestic cycle and I happen to love it."
âI feel like this is a real expression of my love for my daughter. Not the only one, but an important one. As a parent, you want the kid to come back to a place where it seems like the walls are made of feather down.â
The interview appears in the March issue of InStyle US edition, and also stars Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz. Read more on the interview here .
