Few things are comforting when youâre going through a heartbreaking split but there are worse shoulders to cry on than Bradley Cooperâs.
Over the weekend, it was revealed Bond girl Gemma Arterton has split from her hubby of two years , Stefano Catelli.
And over that 72-hour period, Gemma was barely a few metres from Hangover stud Bradley.
As I said, I can think of worse people to console myself with.
Gemma, 27, is said to have split from Stefano, 40, a few months back by mutual consent, though a spokeswoman declined to comment.
Â
The actress is reportedly still âdevastatedâ by the break-up.
But luckily, US star Brad, 38, has been in London to take her out for a couple of nights on the tiles.
The pair shared a car to Rose club from his Silver Linings Playbook bash on Friday night.
There, they partied until 1.30am, leaving in the same car.
Then on Saturday evening, they arrived at Annabelâs club for another pre-Bafta party via separate entrances â" just minutes apart.
Finally, yesterday they both attended EEâs British Academy Film Awards at Londonâs Royal Opera House.
A source tells me: âBrad and Gemma have become firm friends and, as sheâs feeling down at the moment, he wanted to show her a good time while heâs in London.
âAfter hanging out at Harvey Weinsteinâs Silver Linings bash at Little House Restaurant they decided to share a car to Rose, where they spent a few hours partying together at a table.
âBradâs a really nice guy and he and Gemma seemed like they were getting on very well.â
In November, Gemma wrote a glowing piece for Variety magazine on the starâs role in Silver Linings Playbook, where she said of his character Pat: âWe fall in love with Pat. He is the perfect combination of fragile and strong; the winning heart-melting formula (men, take note).
âHe can also sort of dance, which is also adorable. Iâm so excited to see where Bradley Cooperâs career will go from here.â
Gemma started dating Stefano, who works for a British fashion marketing company, in 2009, and married him a year later.
She is said to be âin no rushâ to move on following their split.
