Heâs probably the coolest and most handsome man in the world - but somehow David Beckham remains incredibly humble.
In a new interview with the footballer-turned-pants model , he talks about the sacrifices he makes to play sport and the difficulty of bringing up children in a whirlwind of fame.
When asked about living away from his family, David told CNN World Sport: âWhen you speak about the sacrifices, that's obviously the sacrifice that I have to make as a father and as a husband, being away from my family.
âIt's only for a short time but itâs difficult being away from the children every single day. But they understand it; they understand that Daddy works hard.â
Becks gave a rare insight into his parenting tactics and how he copes with giving them enough spa ce to live their own lives but continue to protect them from the big bad world.
âMy eldest [Brooklyn, 14] now is at the age where he wants to do things and he wants to go places and you have to hold him back, or we have to hold him back,â he said.
He continued: ââYou have to explain it to him that there are certain things that he can't do.
âBut to be honest, with our children, we let them do 99% of the things they want to do because we want them to lead a normal life.â
David has relocated to the French capital to play football for Paris Saint-Germain and confessed that heâs acquired a taste for the local cuisine.
âI love French food I must admit. Obviously living here at the moment, I've always loved French Cuisine.â
Before adding: âI like snails actually.â
While he confesses to tucking into slimy snacks, David also a dmitted that out of his 32 tattoos the ones of his childrenâs names are his favourite and he doesnât regret a single bit of ink.
âThey all have a meaning. I think that's what's important about tattoos, if they all have a meaning you'll never regret them.â
