The most fancied man on the planet has confessed that back in the heady Mickey Mouse Club days of double denim and sherbert rushes it was the one and only Britney Spears who was his “girl next doorâ€. He says: "Britney was a sweetheart. She lived right above me, the girl next door,†he said.
Well, technically Ryan she was 'the girl above'. Not that we're picking holes or anything. We'd never do that to you.
Anyway, Ryan just breezily came out with the fact that he used to snog her chops off, like it isn't a big deal, like it won't change the way we see history forever. She was “the little girl I used to play basketball and spin the bottle with,†he added.
Ryan and Britney in a tree... K-I-S-S-I-N-G? What a revelation!
But Britney wasn't satisfied with just one smooth moved Mouseketeer under her flowery little belt, nope. The young star soon moved onto the curly topped warbler Justin Trousersnake and the two of them took denim to whole new heights together. Until she reportedly cheated on him and he dumped her in a song, that is.
Perhaps powered by the elixir of her affection, and maturing rather than aging like two delicious cheeses, Ry and Justin went on to pursue world-domination, making them two of the coolest and most fancied guys on this mortal planet.
Britney well, er, she made some dubious decisions and then had an extremely public head-shaving breakdown. But we like to thin k she showed them what it meant to love. Or something.
When Sunday Times Style Magazine asked RyGo if he still kept in touch with Britney he said: "Not really. I mean, sometimes you are at the same event...
"But it's a lot like I imagine what it's like to run into someone from elementary school."
So massively awkward then?
The dreamy-faced heartthrob says it's pretty impressive they all got so famous, but reckons it's because they're better at stuff than other people.
“It is remarkable, but it isn't, in a way," the actor said. "Now you have The X Factor and all that stuff, but back then it wasn't around.
