Life isn't all scripted TV plots and vagina-smelling for the Kardashians. The youngest sister Khloe has been forced to speak out about allegations her husband Lamar Odom has been operating a fraudulent cancer charity, worth nearly £2milion.
That's a bit serious for an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, isn't it?
Lamar founded charity Cathy's Kids in 2004, named in memory of his late mother who died of stomach cancer. But following an investigation by ESPN, the basketball star was accused of failing to give a considerable sum of the reported $2.2 million raised to any cancer-related causes.
Writing on her website to defend her hubby, Khloe said: "It is unfortunate that my husband has been the target of an attack on athletesâ charities, although he has personally contributed approximately $2.2 million to his foundation, Cathyâs Kids, to fulfill its charitable purposes that include helping underprivileged inner-city youth.
"The millions of dollars personally contributed by Lamar constituted more than 90% of the money raised by the foundation. All of the funds donated by Lamar and the other contributions to Cathyâs Kids were used for one of the foundationâs intended charitable purposes. Not one penny went to help Lamar personally or any member of his family.
"No charitable funds were misused, and the IRS has repeatedly given Cathyâs Kids a clean bill of health, confirming that there were no improprieties."
Some of the funds have reportedly been used to finance two elite youth basketball travel teams, which Khloe defended saying: "Cathyâs Kids was formed with several purposes in mind, including benefitting underprivileged youth and cancer research. A decision was ultimately made that the charity should focus on one of those purposes â" to help enrich the lives of underprivileged inner-city youth.
"It accomplished that goal. Cathyâs Kids helped fund multiple AAU basketball teams providing underprivileged youth with opportunities enriching their lives, providing financial support for coaching and travel to tournaments, helping inner-city youth on a path toward success and leading many participants to go on to college."
On the same day that Khloe, 28, made wrote this online essay, she and her husband removed all of the items for sale on their joint eBay store.
Up until that point the couple had had been selling everything from sunglasses to pre-owned designer clothes, and stated on each item that "a portion of the proceeds benefit Cathy's Kids".
Since the story broke, Khloe has tried to lighten the mood somewhat by Tweeting a lot about different topics, including missing her brother and needing to do some cardio in the gym. She only alluded to how difficult things have been and how people have reacted once:
There are some finicky people in this world! People thrive off hate! I am fueled by LOVE and POSITIVITY. Peace to those who only know hate

Let's hope things all get resolved for Lamar and Khloe soon. They're got a lot going on at the moment, what with Kourtney potentially renting them her womb to help them have a baby.Â
A representative for the couple has been contacted for a comment.
