The Voice contestant Jamie Bruce has hit out at The X Factor for failing to give support after he was âridiculedâ in auditions two years ago.
Jamie, who on Saturday night got through to the live rounds of the singing talent show The Voice, praised BBC1 for treating him professionally and âlike an artistâ.
The singer said: âCompare that to The X Factor where there is no aftercare and people to make sure youâre mentally OK.
âSome people donât thrive under pressure and crumble. Then they get ridiculed by the crowd and judges.â
He revealed that he binged on junk food to try to âforget about feeling like a failureâ after getting kicked out of The X Factor and his weight ballooned to 24 stone.
Jamie, who has lost 4 stone in seven weeks and aims to be 17 stone by the live rounds, said: âItâs been easy for me to cut out the bad things in my life with the frame of mind Iâm now in.â

Voice coach Will.i.am has just revealed he suffers with ADHD. The Black Eyed Peas singer, 38, says: âI have ADHD. Iâll admit it.
âDid you hear about the elephant that got into that fight with a gorilla? Sorry, thatâs my ADHD kicking in.
âIâve got all this stuff in my head at the same time as Iâm doing stuff and I donât know how to stop or slow down. But itâs all good because I know how to control it.â Read more of the story here.
