Blimey, we’d heard Skyfall wasn’t all that (we don’t have time to go to the cinema â€" always asleep on the sofa out rubbing shoulders with the stars), but if the SIX nominations it received for the Jameson Empire Awards is anything to go by, it’s not bad.

As well as best film, best thriller, best director and best British film, Dame Judi Dench (god love ‘er) received a vote for best actress and the fitness of Daniel Craig is up for best actor, naturally (check out Mirror.co.uk's live Oscars coverage here).

Daniel is up against Martin Freeman for best actor in his role in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The film is also nominated in another four categories â€" just one less than the latest Bond movie.
