We love music's coolest power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce. And they love each other too. And they've proved that love by rapping about each other in their new tracks. Because when you're global superstars, some flowers from the garage and putting a bath on isn't going to cut it.
So, ladies first, and Beyonce got the first crack when her controversial new track 'Bow Down/I Been On' leaked online a few days ago and caused a bit of uproar.
Listen to it here to see why .
In the weird song the former Destiny's Child star raps the following:
"I took my time to live my life but donât think Iâm just his little wife. Donât get it twisted this is my sh*t."
Probably in reference to the stick she got for calling her upcoming tour The Mrs Carter Show.
Â
And now Jay-Z has returned the favour and given his wife of four years a 'shout out' in his guest rap on Kendrick Lamar's new track called 'B*tch Don't Kill My Vibe'. Shame about the title.
The artist formerly known as Shawn Carter 'spits' these lyrics: "Up in the clouds, me and my spouse / Rumors on the ground gettin' too loud"
"Please turn them s--ts down, can't hear myself think / Turbulence, s--t, almost spilled my drink."
Which is genius because it rhymes and everything.
Â
But Queen Bey wasn't the only one to get referenced. Jay-Z also name-checks his close friend and actual president of the United States - Mr Barack Obama.
"Presidential pardon, name one n---a out there harder than him / I'll wait, I've been in my weight like 20 years straight / I've been on my vibe like 20 years straight,"
Â
This isn't the first time Jay-Z has waxed lyrical about his family life.
Â
Last September, Jay (yeah, we call him that, he said it's fine) released a track on his website called 'Glory' where he rapped about Beyonce's miscarriage and their daughter Blue Ivy.
"You're my child with a child from Destiny's Child," he tells her, through the power of rap.
"Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you'd disappear/But nah baby you magic."
"The most amazing feeling I feel/Words can't describe what I'm feeling for real/ Maybe I paint the sky blue/My greatest creation was you. You. Glory."
Â
The track finishes with a baby's cries and the song credits say it features BIC (Blue Ivy Carter?)
Aww. That's nice. But let's face it, it's no 'Single Ladies' is it?
