Sometimes the oldies are the best it seems because a golden (well he was ginger quite a bit, but still) oldie has got himself a bit of a record, in more ways than one.
David Bowie's first album in 10 years, The Next Day, has just gone straight to the top of the Official Charts Company's, er chart.
And not only that, it's currently the fastest selling album of the year so far, thanks to the fact it's shifted 94,000 copies and counting.

The second highest entry of the week is Bon Jovi's What About Now and Emeli Sande has stuck another middle finger up at Noel Gallagher by slipping just one place to Number 3 with Our Version of Events.
People like "music for grannies" it seems... or there's a lot of grey haired ladies buying albums these days.

Nicole Sherzinger was (probably) hoping to get her second solo Number 1 with new single Boomerang, especially since it was doing so well in the mid-week charts. But Justin Timberlake's Mirrors took the top spot for the third week running while Nicole was at Number 6, which we're sure she still thinks is 'shmazing'.

Thanks to Comic Relief (and the ridiculous popularity of the boys), One Direction's One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) official charity single went up to Number 2.
A certain Harry Styles may want to look away now too because his ex girlfriend Taylor Swift, is going to be in his face even more than usual. As well as just admitting that one of her other singles was about Harry , her new track 22 has charged into the Top 40 to Number 26 before it's even been released (that's happening in April), thanks to the premiere of the video. (Read all about their fling here).
