Jessica Alba has taken a fairly massive dig at Gwyneth Paltrow as she promotes her new book The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True To You .
Barf. That sounds almost as bad as some of Goop's offerings!
But apparently Jess' preachy organic advice is like TOTALLY different to Gwynnie's because she had it really hard growing up. Get out the tiny violins everyone.
Â
The Fantastic Four actress was talking to The New York Daily News when she pointed out that her lifestyle tips will be more relatable to everyday mums.
"Alicia Silverstone is a vegan, so she's the extreme side of it. Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn't grow up with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: repurposing things and making things at home," Jess said.
Ouch! That sounded like the kind of back-handed compliments that aren't compliments you get in Mean Girls . Eat your heart out, Regina George!
But to be fair, she might have a point.
Especially when some of the suggestions on Goop involve buying a yoga mat that costs more than our flat. Keep up the good work, Gwynno!
While Jessica grew up in a working-class, military family in suburban California, Gwyneth had a privileged, showbizzy upbringing in LA with her director dad and actress mum.
We can see why Jess might feel in competition with Gwynnie. Like Paltrow's Goop empire, Alba runs The Honest Company, an eco-friendly, organic lifestyle brand. And in terms of fame, money and acting ability, Paltrow probably wins.
Â
Recently Gwynnie had her own Regina George moment when she told Shape magazine:
"I feel a sisterhood emerging around me. Iâm less threatening now that Iâm 40 and not 26-with-an-Oscar."
Haaaaa! That's basically "I'm sorry people are so jealous of me but I can't help it that I'm so popular".
Although to be fair, she does look awesome when she strips off in the new Iron Man trailer .
Gwyneth has also come under all sorts of fire for her new cook book It's All Good (is it though? it's not that good for us) in which she claims she doesn't feed her kids carbs .
We wonder if Jess occasionally takes 4-year-old Honor and 19-month-old Haven to McDonalds. Just because their mum had it tough growing up, yeah? Â
