Tameka Foster broke down in tears after she failed to win custody of her son from her singer ex-husband Usher on Friday.
The mother of five-year-old Usher Raymond V was hoping to regain temporary primary custody of the boy after he slipped into a coma following a freak pool accident at musician Usher's Atlanta home this week.
Tameka lost primary custody of sons Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely last year but she requested an emergency custody hearing following the accident claiming her children were not properly cared for.
Taking to the stand at the hearing, she said: "I don't know where my kids are, who they're with, who's taking care of them."
However, Usher claimed he sent an email to his ex every Sunday to let her know what they will be doing the following week.
Â
The star's lawyer said the children were "thriving" and the pool accident "could have happened to anyone".
In a heartfelt move Usher then hugged Tameka after the hearing.
On Thursday, Tameka posted an emotional picture online showing Usherâs eldest son being cuddled by his mum as he recovers in intensive care.
The tot was rushed to hospital after he almost drowned in a freak swimming pool accident when his hand got trapped in the drainage system.
His mum, Tameka Raymond, cuddles her child lovingly with gifts of balloons and toys in the background.
She posted the picture of the touching scene with son Usher Raymond V on Instagram.
Tameka added a caption: "My favorite 5 year old. What a blessing!
âI have always loved and appreciated my sons but tragedies and close calls make this even more evident.
"URV had an angel named Kile Ishmael and our Lord and true savior to look after him.
âWords cannot express the relief and how thankful to God I truly am.
"Thank you Jehovah God, Jesus and Kile also The AV worker that saved my son is my Hero!!! Period."
And singer Usher has now thanked them for their heroic actions.Â
He said in a statement: "I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering.
"I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my familyâs well-being.
"I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock.
"I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's li fe, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews.
"They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."
Usher's son is still on an intensive care unit in hospital and is being cared for in a private area, according to TMZ.
But the child is recovering and is sitting up in bed and laughing.
This is not the first time Usher has suffered heartache in his family - his stepson, who Tameka was mother to from a previous relationship, passed away after a jet ski accident a year ago.
