BBC Breakfast star Susanna Reid has signed up for this yearâs Strictly Come Dancing.
The stunning 42-year-old is said to be âthrilledâ by the opportunity to take to the dancefloor â" although she will have to juggle her training with a gruelling commute.
Three days a week the sultry news presenter takes the train several hundred miles from her home in South London to Salford, Greater Manchester, where BBC Breakfast is now based.
The star â" who showcased an Âenviable pair of pins during a BBC newsreadersâ Strictly Children in Need routine in 2011 â" hinted that she would consider appearing on the show when she spoke to the Mirror last October.
She said: âI did the Children In Need one with Robin Windsor as my professional dance partner. Bill Turnbull has done the full one and if I had the opportunity to dance with Robin again I would not say no.â
A show insider said itâs possible that because of their experience the pair could be given less time than other competitors to learn the first dance. The source added: âWeâre delighted to get Susanna on the show.
Â
âShe is the most popular thing on breakfast TV and is loved by millions.
âShe is used to getting up early for her job, but she faces a tough schedule now to fit everything in along with her family life.â
Susanna, who lives with her partner, charity director Dominic Cotton and three young children in Lambeth, has featured in âworldâs sexiest womenâ polls in menâs magazines alongside pop stars and models.
She has been a BBC journalist for almost 20 years and a regular presenter on Breakfast since 2003 where she has covered many major news stories from the capture of Saddam Hussein to the death of Michael Jackson.
Other names in the frame for the new series of the hit Saturday night show include model and WAG Abbey Crouch and Countdownâs Rachel Riley.
The full line up will be announced on The One Show next week with the launch show airing on September 7.
