Hollywood actor Bruce Willis has said he is âboredâ of making action movies but does them to make lots of money.
Willis, 58, has been criticised in recent weeks for virtually refusing to speak in some UK interviews and not appearing to properly promote his own films.
And last week Sylvester Stallone kicked him off Expendables 3 allegedly because of his âgreedyâ pay demands.
In a new interview, Die Hard star Willis was asked if he was fed up with action movies and replied: âExplosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, its not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, Iâm a bit bored of it now.
âI am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium sized, even science fiction.â
Despite mentioning money and not working on Expendables because of a cash row, Willis insisted he did not âdance for joyâ when he got his pay cheques from his films.
Â
He added: âNot because I am used to it, but because I only think about money in moments like this, when another person mentions that I am a rich man. Iâm not someone who spends the whole day counting bank notes.â
Speaking to XLS magazine in Spain, hardman Willis also claimed he only cried âevery so oftenâ and one thing that prompted tears was sporting events.
Giving an example, he said: âDuring the Olympic Games. I always get emotional with the excitement of victory and the agony of the defeat. It really moves me to see people that overcome obstacles that look insurmountable. And my daughters also make me cry - but with laughter.â
