“I found it offensive”: Mel B is booed on America's Got Talent for buzzing 'racist' joke

In her bid to attempt to appear as a judge on every talent show in every country of the world, Mel B has somehow come a cropper in the American leg of her quest.

The ex Spice Girl, who is currently doing a stint on TV Overlord Simon Cowell's AGT show in New York came unstuck during a contestant's comedy performance.

According to TMZ the super awkward moment came when a contestant made a joke that involved a gag about African American taxi drivers being "more entertaining than other taxi drivers". Uh Oh.

Whilst the rest of the room laughed their little heads off, Mel was one Angry Spice slamming her finger on her buzzer and saying: "I found it really offensive. There was no need to do a stereotypical black joke. It was not funny."

But instead of backing off and apologising her fellow judges, simply encouraged her to lighten up. Amid the boos of the crowd Howard Stern told her she was lacking a sense of humour, whilst Hedi Klum said to the contestant: "There will always be jokes made about being black and white ... I agree with you that we should laugh about it,” which we think is passive aggressive model for, 'get over yourself, Mel'.

What a mixed bunch this lot are

This isn't the first time Mel's been booed on the telly.

At the UK X-Factor auditions in Manchester last year the Spice lass was booed for giving 81 year old widower Lou a piece of her mind, telling him she “wanted to fall asleep” during his performance. Charming.

Ah well, plenty more talent shows where that one came from. Where to next, Mel - Taiwan's Got Talent?
