Strictly judge blasts X Factor: Craig Revel Horwood has branded the rival show 'inhumane'

Strictly judge blasts X Factor: Craig Revel Horwood has branded the rival show 'inhumane'

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has attacked the X Factor's Boot Camp twist, calling it "inhumane".

The professional choreographer hit out at the controversial 'chair swap' twist, arguing that the entire premise "promises false hope".

The twist has already caused outrage with fans taking to Twitter to vent their anger at the show . Singer Lily Allen wrote: “When did become alright to f*** with peoples minds. X factor has got fully mean.”

Speaking at the launch event for his new book, Revel Horwood agreed, telling Digital Spy: "That hurts people's feelings. It promises false hope.

"That's not very nice to do to people that want to be in the business. You give them hope and dangle a carrot and then you rip it away from them. I think that's inhumane."

When asked whether he thinks Strictly winning the ratings battle is down to the X Factor becoming too mean, the longtime judge replied: "It's something the whole family can watch without malice. People's careers aren't based on it. Their whole careers on X Factor are hanging on everybody's word, it's not the same.

"People in these times want to have a nice happy Saturday night entertainment show that's full of laughs, that's classy and good value entertainment."

Both shows have been well known for their more, shall we say, interesting acts. Wagner, Jedward and Rylan for the X Factor, and who can forget Anne Widdecombe and John Sargeant strutting their stuff on Strictly? But Revel Horwood argues that Strictly doesn't have 'joke acts'.

"Strictly is an entertainment show, it's not a real competition," he added. Which considering Sophie 'Murder on the Dancefloor' Bextor is a contestant on this year's show, might be about to change.

"The celebrities aren't pair ing up in order to go on a tango tour of the world," he added. "So it's not like the X Factor where there's wannabes who'll end up with a recording contract and everybody will make a lot of money out of them.

"X Factor is about searching for a star, so I don't think joke acts belong there. Plus, ours aren't joke acts. They're not employed to be a joke act, they're employed to learn to dance."

Referencing the seemingly never ending game of musical chairs on the X Factor panel - the kind rivalled only by the Sugababes/MKS, he said: "We're in our 11th series and there's only been three people in that [female judge]. That's not bad going really compared to a lot of other judging shows. Why fix something that's not broke?"

Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears' single leaks online

Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears' single leaks online

It's the song that Miley Cyrus described as her "dream collaboration" and it's got a really weird name. Yes, Miley's duet with Britney Spears, SMS, is finally here - it leaked online about an hour ago, and you can listen to it below.

The song, which is such low quality it sounds like Miley and Britney are singing from a swamp, has a few rude words in (well, this is twerk-queen Miley) so listen with caution.

It references men, one night stands, sex toys, "meow" and lots of swearing from Miley.

Brit: "Y'all will lurve this record!"

Earlier this year, Miley said she had managed to get a mystery pop star to sing on her album, but couldn't reveal who, saying: "I have my, like, dream person on my record but I can't tell you. If I tell you then I have to kill you, and I don't wanna do that because I like you."

But then SMS producer Sean Garrett gave the game away on Twitter, confirming it was "iconic". In a later interview, he said: "We just did three crazy records for her, one of them featuring the great Britney Spears."

Miley then previewed her album in a sampler online, which confirmed Britney's appearance on SMS - but this is the first time the song's been heard in full.

Other duets on the album include rappers Future, Big Sean, Nelly and French Montana. It's produced by rumoured boyfriend Mike Will Made It and Pharrell, and Miley thinks we'll all be listening to it as much as she does. "[It's] coming out soon. So right now I'm listening to it 20,000 times to make sure it's perfect. I have to make sure every detail is perfect," she said. "There are albums that people still are listening to, like Michael Jackson's Bad, because it's so f**king dope. I want people to listen to my album like that."

Fifteen years after the last novel in the saga, it turns out unlucky-in-love Bridget married Darcy had two children - Mabel and Billy.

Heralding the arrival of "chick lit", Bridget Jones's Diary started life as as a newspaper column in 1995.

Two best-selling novels, with their corresponding Hollywood blockbuster film adaptations featuring Renee Zellweger as Bridget and Colin Firth as Darcy, followed.

Portrayed as a stereotypical 1990s London thirty-something worried about her weight, smoking and alcohol intake, Bridget struck a chord with women of her generation.

The origina l book was eventually voted by readers as one of the 10 novels that defined the 20th century, side by side with Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell or Anne Frank's own diary.

Khloe Kardashian drops Odom name and all but confirms divorce from husband Lamar

Their marriage has been rumoured to be on the rocks for months - and in the strongest hint yet that she was less than happy being Mrs Odom, Khloe Kardashian has dropped her husband's name from her Twitter account.

Now, in the real world inhabited by you and me - this could mean nothing.

But in the world of reality stars and celebrity, social networking clangers are a huge hint something is up (remember Miley Cyrus unfollowing Liam Hemsworth on Twitter?).

Khloe's three year marriage to basketball star Lamar is reportedly in turmoil - the reality star has not been seen with her athlete husband since his DUI arrest three weeks ago.

Lamar will appear in court for his arraignment what would be the couple's four year wedding anniversary this Friday.

Neither party have commented on the split rumours with Khloe, 29, still wearing her wedding ring.

After deleting her husband's surname from her Instagram account, Khloe Kardashian has removed it off Twitter, too.

It will be the 10 year anniversary of her father's death on September 30.

She wrote: "I love this pic! Missing you will be forever but forever thankful you blessed us with this amazing kid. Robert Jr you are his twin. Mind, body and soul. I love you."

Khloe's dad, who was one of OJ Simpson's lawyers during his murder trial, died aged 59 in 2003.

Khloe's brother Rob, named after the Kardashian's father, lived with his sister and Lamar for a while after their marriage.

She's bringing sexy back! Eva Longoria looks hot in a whopping eight outfits glamorous awards

Eva Longoria
Nothing like a good leg bomb before a glamorous event

When you're a super famous star you have buckets of cash to actually throw at nice things such as big houses, flash cars, sparkly diamonds and CLOTHES.

And if we were a celebrity we would actually do this - in fact, sometimes we wake up from an amazingly heavenly dream where we are some kind of worldwide adored super-celeb and we instantly head down to our local shop and throw whatever money we have in our pockets at the rack of £1 socks.

However, actual Hollywod stars don't need to dream like this as they actually live it and Eva Longoria demonstrated this when she wore not one, not two but a whopping EIGHT dresses to a glamorous event on Friday.

Eva Longoria
Actress woman? Mermaid? Swaved paving slab? Who knows!

The actress was attending the NCLR ALMA Awards in Los Angeles and decided she was going to look as sexy as possible at the bash.

In fact, we've taken a moment to look up the definition of the word 'sexy', which we used in the previous sentence, on a certain online dictionary website and we got this: "It's not a word, it's an attitude..."

And Eva certainly was in a very, erm, sexy attitude at the awards as she looked wonderful in each and every one of her outfits whether it be a black floor-length gown with a mermaid tail or whether she had on a rack-enhancing number with a plunging neckline while she felt up the rippling six pack put her arm around the hunky Mario Lopez.

Eva Longoria
Mario Lopez found himself gravitating around Eva's boobs when she wore this dress

But despite dressing up to maximum hotness levels, Eva, who has been married to basketball player Tony Parker and actor Tyler Christopher, is in no rush to find herself a man at the event.

She recently told US television show Access Hollywood: "I've been married twice so that's been there done that. I'm not one of these women that's like, 'Oh, I must procreate!' So, no. I think kids are a product of love so if you find the right person and you want to have a family with that person then that's when the time is right."

Kanye West launches verbal attack on paparazzi photographer after Jimmy Kimmel Twitter rant

Kanye West launches verbal attack on paparazzi photographer after Jimmy Kimmel Twitter rant

Kanye West rose to fame as a rapper but has now become known for something else - his determination to stop any paparazzi photographers talking to him, anyone he knows, each other and themselves (strange but true).

So it's hardly surprising he's gone on yet another rant at a photographer for attempting to take pictures of him at his Los Angeles home at 4:00am on Friday morning.

The musician was seen leaving his bachelor pad with a woman who had her face covered but is thought to be girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

It all started when television host Jimmy Kimmel recently decided to spoof Kanye’s foul mouthed interview with BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, replacing the two with children.

Now, please, let us break this down for you...

Clearly taking off ence to Jimmy's clip (scroll down to watch) Kanye launched himself towards his nearest computer or snazzy electronic device and delved into the depths of Twitter to launch some words out to in front of the world's eyes.

“JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS,” his Twitter account screamed.

And the row continues

His rant continued: “JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES … OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD P***Y IN YOUR LIFE…”

Harsh.

Then it got a bit personal, we like to imagine Kanye had a bit of tear in his eye when he ranted this one out.

“JIMMY KIMMEL, I DON’T TAKE IT AS A JOKE…. YOU DON’T HAVE SCUM BAGS HOPPING OVER FENCES TRYING TO TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR DAUGHTER.

"SHOULD I DO A SPOOF ABOUT YOUR FACE OR YOU FUCKING BEN AFFLECK…#NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK #ALLDISRESPECTTOJIMMYKIMMEL!!!!"

He's angry...

Erm... ok then! So there it is! (BACKGROUND INFORMATION (AND MOST CAPS OVER.))

This could may be why Kanye was so upset when someone tried to a picture of him passing through his back door with pose-loving girlfriend Kim, together the pair known as Kimye, when they attempted to leave his Californian Casa on Friday.

However, it wasn't just the camera snapping. The photographer asked: "Hey, Kanye, are you made at Jimmy Kimmel? Do you think it was too much?"

But it's not until Kanye returns outside, he responds with: "Don't say anything to me. Stop asking me questions. You out in front of my house at 4:00am. You come out, 'How's it going?' It's not going good. You all here trying to take... to make money off of me. That's how it's going."

He later lunges at the photographers and shouts: "Shut the f**k up you blood-sucking mosquito."

Kid Kanye - complete with milkshake

Kanye doesn't make any physical contact and in no part of the clip can the exchange be seen turning violent.

However, while it may not be fun to be, erm, welcomed (?) and quizzed outside your house that early in the morning, this is not the first time Kanye has had a scuffle with the paparazzi.

He was recently reportedly charged with charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft after an alleged airport attack on a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport in July.

Hero, villain, lover, fighter, friend, foe, father (to adopted daughter Sharon, Dennis and Michelle's illegitimate child, Vicky), Den meant many different things to many different people.

He's also been shot, he's been to prison and he's had countless bust-ups in the square - but he'll always be known as a legend.

Below are life skills picked up from the man himself.

Dirty Den Lesson #1 â€" Always notice when your partner has a new outfit/hairdo/nails done

In this lesson, Dirty Den has just noticed Angie's brand new, bejewelled, emerald coloured top. He informs his soon-to-be-ex-wife that he's seen the receipt.

Miley Cyrus on drugs: Cannabis and MDMA are brilliant but cocaine is a no for me

Miley Cyrus on drugs: Cannabis and MDMA are brilliant but cocaine is a no for me

Just when you think the most controversial thing Miley Cyrus could do next would be to NOT be controversial, the singer goes and gabbles on about how much she loves drugs.

At 20, the former Hannah Montana star is part-way through her transition from child star to edgy adult.

And now, after her twerking exploits, she has been banging on about cannabis and MDMA being brilliant. “I think weed is the best drug on earth,” she says, rather complacently, in her latest interview.

“One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it and I saw a wolf howling at the moon.”

The singer has put on a lot of controversial performances recently

Peyote, for the unenlightened, is a plant containing the hallucinogen mescaline. But let’s let Miley finish.

“Hollywood is a coke town,” she explains. “But weed is so much better. And molly, too.”

Molly is the American term for MDMA â€" the purest form of ecstasy.

“Those are happy drugs â€" social drugs,” she continues. “They make you want to be with friends. You’re out in the open. You’re not in a bathroom. “I really don’t like coke. It’s so gross and so dark It’s like what are you, from the 90s?”

Miley is seen smoking in Mike Will Made It's 23 video

Technically, cocaine was more popular in the 80s but I digress â€" and this is becoming more educational on illegal substances than Breaking Bad. Elsewhere in Miley’s too-candid chat with US mag Rolling Stone, the singer describes herself as being “like a creepy, sexy baby” â€" pretty much on point.

She also reveals how she has a personal chef and states: “Chihuahuas are the most scary animals on the planet.” Really, Miley?

Speaking of planets, she’s bored of this one so fancies leaving for a bit.

“I’ve always dreamed of going into space,” she says. “Virgin Galactic is taking a ship up next year â€" I’m trying to get on there right now.

“I’ve got a friend who invested in it and he can kind of hook it up.”

Miley Cyrus: ?she’s certainly on ?another planet...

The movie weaves together the stories of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood among others, along with a new story about a baker (Corden) and his wife (Blunt).

Amanda Bynes' mum 'withdraws' bid for conservatorship of her daughter's financial affairs and medical treatment

The mum of fallen former Disney star Amanda Bynes has reportedly withdrawn her bid to take control of her daughter's financial affairs and medical treatment.

Lynn Bynes had been due to seek permanent conservatorship of the troubled 27-year-old, who is being treated for mental health problems in a psychiatric hospital in California, on Monday.

But according to Radar Online, Lynn's attorney Tamar Arminak "notified the court on Thursday morning that the petition was being withdrawn".

Lynn won temporary conservatorship of her wig-loving daughter at the start of August, after the former Nickelodeon star reportedly set fire to her neighbour's driveway.

This will now expire on Monday.

Get well soon Amanda

It is unclear why Lynn  has withdrawn her petition.

Amanda  become notorious for posting a string of bizarre tweets online and branding other stars ugly earlier this year.

She was arrested after allegedly throwing a bong out of her New York apartment window and has previously had her driving license suspended for driving under the influence.

Earlier this month, Mr Arminak was forced to deny claims the actress had started tweeting again, saying that her Twitter account had been hacked.

Sophie Anderton and Nicola McLean cosy up on a bed as the Big Brother house opens as tourist attraction

Located on a plot at the Elstree TV studios, the Big Brother house is a place of reality TV legend.

Last night past stars of the show attended the launch event that kicks off The National Trust opening it up to the public for the next 48 hours.

In attendance were the likes of Sophie Anderton, Alex Reid, Lauren Harries, Hazel O’Sullivan, Dexter Koh, Charlie Travers, Nicola McLean and past stars like Nikki Grahame.

As you can see, Sophie and Nicola did what any other house guest would do in such a situation - and had a little cuddle on a bed. What larks.

The National Trust's London director Ivo Dawnay said: "The fact that the housemates' residence is not, say, a sublime late Robert Adam country house does not necessarily make it less interesting.

"The great houses of our past reflected the tastes of the day and so does the Big Brother House."

Former Celebrity Big Brother houemate Alex Reid, 38, told Daily Star: “The night before coming in I had second thoughts but I knew I had to do it. I wanted to be known as an actor and an athlete but I was known for my sex life. When I came in I treated it like a fight and I turned boos into cheers.”

Brian Belo, 26, added: “It’s surreal really. I feel like I’m an old Etonian visiting the school again.”
