Kanye West shocked viewers when he dissed love rival Ray J during a surprise performance on American TV.
The controversial rapper made a guest appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for a live rendition of new single Bound 2 â" the second from his latest album Yeezus.
But what should have been a monumental occasion of awesomeness was nearly overshadowed by his not-so-subtle diss.
Ray J infamously starred in the sex tape with Kim Kardashian and recently released a song called I Hit It First, which was basically an entire track bragging about bedding the curvy reality TV before Kanye.
Kanyeâ â" backed by Charlie Wilson, The Roots and a six-voice chorus from school kids â" changed the original lyrics for his personal attack: "Brandy's little sister lame, man, he know it now.â
Before rapping: "When a real brother hold you down you supposed to drown.â
His brash lyrics could start a rather interesting feud which if it werenât for Kanyeâs ability and number of awards we wouldnât suggest he got involved.
Especially when his rival is the former boyfriend of the mother of his daughter North, and not to mention the 37-minute long scandalous home video is there for 'diss ammo'.
Kanyeâs rare appearance comes after he made history with a superb performance of Blood On The Leaves at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
