The third series of highly-acclaimed BBC drama Sherlock will see Benedict Cumberbatchâs consulting detective involved in a wedding, the star has revealed.
Cumberbatch, 37, also said that realising that he wouldnât âbe seeingâ the showâs eponymous character for while following the end of filming for the next run of three 90-minute episodes had left him feeling down.
âI felt very sentimental on the last day of shooting, thinking, 'Oh, I've got to say goodbye to him again,â the actor said in an interview with The Guardian.
âHe's f****** hard work, always has been, but I love him, and I got sad that I wasn't going to see him again for a while."
The LAMDA-trained thesp, who has previously told fans that the first upcoming episode is âan absolute stonkerâ, hinted that Holmesâ relationship with Martin Freemanâs John Watson will become stronger â" and that a visit to a church could be on the cards.
"Well, there's a reunion that doesn't necessarily go to plan,â he said.
âAnd there's a bonding experience that throws Sherlock and Watson back together in a very firm way.
âAnd there's a new union as well, in the shape of a marriage, which Sherlock takes part in, so we see that."

Up for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie gong at the Emmys later this month for his role in Parade's End, modest Benedict dismissed mention that he has changed all that much as an actor since attaining his leading man level of fame.
"No, I think I've just been asked to do more," he said.
"And the more you do, the more people trust that you can do."
