Carl Froch and Rachael Cordingley have dropped out of ITV dance show Stepping Out after boxer Carl sprained his lower back during last Saturday's live show.
The unified super-middleweight champ admitted that he was "gutted" about having to leave, but explained that he has to put his boxing career first.
"We've both enjoyed every minute of Stepping Out and loved dancing and spending time with each other," said the 36-year-old.
"Even though we won't be competing on Saturday we will be in the studio cheering everyone on".
An ITV spokesman, confirming that the injury was sustained during a lift, said: "After subsequent consultations with his physiotherapist, he has reluctantly decided to leave the competition".
Show bosses have said that the wife swap twist will still continue within this week's live show, with Brian McFadd en and Jackie Llewelyn Bowen, Oritse Williams and Vogue McFadden and Laurence Llewelyn Bowen and AJ Azari all paired off.
