When pop princess Taylor Swift dropped the f bomb at the VMAs everyone assumed she was referring to her ex Harry Styles.
When our favourite five lads One Direction were presenting at the MTV Video Music Awards, it seems Taylor wasn't exactly too bothered about listening to their chatter.
As the squeaky Louis Tomlinson, was gearing up to award Selena Gomez with a moon man for Best Pop Video, Taylor appeared to whisper a bit of swearing.
Â
It appeared she said: "Shut the f*** up."
Now mutual pal of the two, crooner Ed Sheeran has jumped into the row, explaining Taylor was talking to Selena after the actress said she didn't think she would pick up the award.
According to Cosmopolitan magazine, Ed said: "Taylor was like, 'I think I messed up.'"
"Selena said, 'I think Miley's gonna win [over me]'. And Taylor was like, 'Shut the f*** up!" That's all that was!'"
We believe you Ed, we are sure it's not because they are both your mates and you have sat there at dinner parties while they scream blue murder at each other.
Although the pair were spotted getting close at an after-party with their pal.
Speaking to Extra at the This Is US New York premiere , Harry said of the dig: "It's alright, she likes a joke. I like a joke as much as the next guy, so it's all good."
Things obviously werenât too frosty betw een the pair as they were pictured together at a VMAs after-party the same night Taylor was also caught on camera appearing to tell the band to âshut the f*** upâ.
Harry said: "Yeah, I went for a drink with Ed [Sheeran, currently support act for Taylor on tour] and some friends. It was good."
Taylor has got one over on ex-boyfriend Harry by clocking up two new entries in the Guinness World Records book - while his band One Direction achieved only one.
US star Swift and Styles dated briefly before splitting in January and she has made barbed suggestions that her hit I Knew You Were Trouble was "inspired" by him, most recently at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
Now she has seen her musical feats outweigh his group's efforts in terms of inclusions in the 2014 records book.
