Today marks the 10th anniversary of Leslie Grantham returning to the Square as loveable rogue, Dennis 'Dirty Den' Watts.
Hero, villain, lover, fighter, friend, foe, father (to adopted daughter Sharon, Dennis and Michelle's illegitimate child, Vicky), Den meant many different things to many different people.
He's also been shot, he's been to prison and he's had countless bust-ups in the square - but he'll always be known as a legend.
Below are life skills picked up from the man himself.
Dirty Den Lesson #1 â" Always notice when your partner has a new outfit/hairdo/nails done
In this lesson, Dirty Den has just noticed Angie's brand new, bejewelled, emerald coloured top. He informs his soon-to-be-ex-wife that he's seen the receipt.
    Â
NOTE: Den has failed to acknowledge the £3 spent on the hairdo.
Dirty Den Lesson #2 â" Roses are red, violets are blue and if you see yellow daffodils with a gun in, you shouldn't smile too
Only Dirty Den could smirk in the face of imminent danger. Look at him, standing there with his hands in his polyester pockets.
Â
Dirty Den Lesson #3 â" ANYONE can be a superhero
Den steps out of the shadows, looks his daughters in the eye and says: âI'm Batman.â
Â
Dirty Den Lesson #4 - Good manners maketh the man, but some blokes in the pub just don't like to be winked at
You might be tempted but Den is advising you against it.
Dirty Den Lesson #5 â" Real men get chafed nipples too
Den is not a happy bunny here and expresses his pain to his son, Dennis.
Â
NOTE: The Mitchells will agree that even the hardest tough guy persona comes unstuck sometimes.
Â
Dirty Den Lesson #6 â" Sharon, even in her younger years, really does rabbit on
Halfway through a visit from Sharon it looks like Den wants to be dragged back to his cell.
Dirty Den Lesson #7 - When you find a near-dead body there's only one way to react
Sorry Reg Cox, but we'd do this too.
NOTE: This was the very first time Dirty Den was on our screens in episode 1 in 1985.
Dirty Den Lesson #8 - The consequences of misusing a fruity can hit you like a ton of bricks - as well as in the pocket
Dirty Den lesson #9 â" Even after you're gone, people should want to steal your shoes
Look at Sam Mitchell (played by Danniella Westbrook Kim Medcalf) she desperately wants those loafers.
Â
Dirty Den lesson #10 â" And lastly, always make sure your webcam is turned off or you'll end up feeling...
Den. Dirty Den, you sir are a TV legend.
