Kanye West "charged with criminal battery and attempted theft after pap attack"

Kim Kardashian's boyfriend Kanye West has been charged over an alleged attack on a photographer.

According to reports Kanye has been charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft for allegedly attacking Daniel Ramos - leaving him unable to walk without crutches.

A video posted on US website TMZ appeared to show Kanye appearing irritated by the photographers' presence at LAX on July 19.

In court papers seen by TMZ, it is claimed that Kanye lunged at the photographer, tried to confiscate his camera before punching him.

Reports claim just the day before Kanye had warned photographers not to take his picture.

Paparazzo Daniel  is suing the new dad after Kanye "punched him and threw his camera to the ground".

"When Kanye West attacked me, I was in complete shock," Daniel told reporters.

The photographer involved is helped by passers by

 

"All I had done was ask him a question. I was terrified when Kanye started to come at me. I backed up because I felt from the look in his eyes that he was going to attack me."

If found guilty Kanye could face up to six months in prison.

Kanye's arraignment has been set for October 10.
