They were involved in a mass brawl when the pair clashed inside a swanky New York nightclub last year.
But rapper Drake tries not to dwell on his long-running feud with Chris Brown because he thinks âit could end really badly.â
In a new interview with US GQ magazine, the Canadian lyricist talks openly about his "enemy".
When asked about his problems with Chris, he said: âI donât want my name to be synonymous with that guyâs name. I really donât.
âI wish we could sit down, just like you and me are right now, and talk it out man-to-man. But thatâs not going to happen.â
He continued: âIâm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, Iâm not going to back down.
âItâs embarrassing, the amount of media coverage. Two rappers fighting over the woman.
âHeâs not even a rapper, but still, itâs the last way you want your name out there. It distracts from the music.â
Drake, 26, said: âBut heâs made me the enemy, and thatâs the way itâs gonna stay, I guess.
âIf I think about it too much, I feel it wrapping around my foot, like I get a feeling it could end really badly.â
In April, Drake told a radio station: "His [Chrisâ] insecurities are the fact that I make better music than him, that I'm more popping than him and that at one point in life the woman that he loves fell into my lap."
But his latest comments would imply the Take Care hitmaker would rather concentrate on making music than bedding women.
He explained: âYou know the way fighters donât f*** before the fight? Sometimes I feel like Iâm so focused on training my body and getting my mind right to create this album that sex isnât one of my main priorities.
âIf someone is around that I know and trust, Iâm down. But Iâm not going to end up with some stranger at this party.â
Charming. We're just a bit disappointed nobody asked him about hooking up with Amanda Bynes.
