Big Brotherâs Emma Willis wants TV bosses to get tough with new housemates, saying that contestants âshould have to work for itâ with a £100,000 prize on the line.
New host Emma believes that producers have been too soft on housemates in previous years â" adding that she didnât think parties or home comforts like hair straighteners should be allowed.
âThe show started out as a social experiment, and it was how people worked together and interacted,â Emma is reported to have told the Daily Star.
âIt is a game show, so you always have to have that element of sneakiness and naughtiness.
âBut they get parties and they have a great time, and I just want them to work at it a bit more. I want them to only have one hour of hot water a day, to h ave to bake their own bread, to look after chickens, rather than letting them have everything.
âAnd take away their hair straighteners if they break a rule. They shouldnât even have hair straighteners.
âI donât want them to have parties. Itâs a £100,000 top prize â" they should have to work for it. It shouldnât be easy.â

The star, 37, also said she was hoping for a diverse mix of housemates rather than âjust a group of 20-year-olds who want to get p****d for three monthsâ.
In other Big Brother news, it was reported today that a friend of shamed pop star Tulisa Contostavlos is set to go into the house .
A source told the Daily Star that the 24-year-old âshould be very worriedâ about her old friend - who was not named - appearing on the Channel 5 show.
* Big Brother 2013's first launch show is on tomorrow night, Thursday June 13, on Channel 5 at 9pm
