"It was pretty bad": Made in Chelsea stars Francis and Jamie beaten up outside nightclub

Being in the cast of Made In Chelsea should be every Hooray’s dream: they’re young, good-looking and posh.

The only problem, it seems, is everyone knows they’re minted.

Stars of the E4 reality show â€" diamond entrepreneur Francis Boulle, 24, and biscuit heir Jamie Laing, 23 â€" experienced the pitfalls of fame/infamy when they were jumped outside a nightclub and beaten up.

Their assailants also tried to steal the pair’s Rolex watches and bulging wallets.

The plummy pair were attacked by three burly blokes outside a London club, with Eton-educated Francis so badly attacked he ended up in hospital and required stitches.

The socialite, who’s worth an estimated £10million and previously dated Harry Potter star Emma Watson, took the brunt of the ruckus and is still badly shaken.

He also has a rather nasty looking black eye.

Knocked for six: But Jamie is back filming

TV toff Francis, who released a book last year revealing the secrets behind his success, is so cut up about last Friday’s incident that he has enlisted a minder to accompany him on social engagements and evenings out.

He tells me: “It was pretty bad â€" basically three against one.”

An insider adds: “The attack came as a shock to both guys and they’re quite unnerved by it.

“Nothing like this has happened to them before and it has been a wake-up call.

"It has graphically shown them the negative side of laying their lives bare and letting the world know all about their lavish lifestyle.

“They can deal with people not liking the show but to be physically attacked has knocked them for six.”

Badly beaten: Francis took the brunt of the attack

However, the chums are nothing if not troupers and have been back at work this week filming for the new series of MIC â€" getting stuck into love triangles, extravagant parties and champagne in equal measure.

It’s far from the first time there’s been a very public reality TV star backlash.

Just last year rival TOWIE hit the headlines when the ITV2 show’s sisters Sam and Billie Faiers were set upon by a gang in a nightclub.

Maybe it’s time for a few nights in. Or getting a proper job.
