Olivier Martinez confirms that Halle Berry is having a boy: "My son will be American"

We're not sure if he meant to reveal the sex of his baby, but yesterday, Olivier Martinez was chatting to reporters on the red carpet of a film festival in France and let slip that his first child with Halle Berry, due in autumn, will be a baby boy.

"My son will be an American, but I remain French,” he said, adding that he likes living in the US - for the past two years, he's been living in LA with Halle - saying, "I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there â€" but I’m still a foreigner."

While it's amazing news for the actress and her fianceOlivier, we know who won't be pleased: Halle's five year old daughter Nahla. Last year, Halle revealed that her daughter (with model and ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey) prayed every night for a baby sister.

“Every night, we do our prayers,” Halle said. "She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we’ve got to keep praying on.’”

Well, at least she's getting a bunk bed, eh? Although if your mum's an A List actress, you probably don't have to share a room ...

However, there had been rumours that the actress was expecting a boy, but in March Halle denied she knew the sex.

She did admit, however, that she was pretty surprised to be pregnant at 46. "I feel fantastic. This has been the biggest surprise of my life to tell you the truth," she said when she announced she was expecting. “I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”

Awww. Better start painting the nursery blue then, Halle ... let's hope she goes for a really weird name for her baby son, like these celebrities:
