Lance Bass responds to Amanda Bynes' rant but struggles to believe the messages came from his former friend

Lance Bass has expressed his sadness over tweets sent by actress Amanda Bynes in which she said he was an "ugly ex boyband member" and claimed he had "no talent or career".

The troubled star became enraged with former 'N Sync star Lance, who is a former friend of the star and worked with her on film Love Wrecked, after he spoke out about her during a radio interview saying he hoped she got help with any issues she has.

After hearing his comments, Amanda tweeted: "I ignored Lance Bass on Twitter and now he is saying I have a mental illness. Sorry you're an ugly ex boyband member w/ no talent or career."

She added: "I haven't spoken to Lance Bass in 11 years. To say I have a mental illness out of nowhere makes me lash out! You're making me crazy!"

Responding to the message, Lance wrote: "Ouch - The Amanda I know would never had said somethin g like this to me - either this is a fake person or she really does have a mental illness. Way too sad. I reached out - all I can do."

Referring to the last time Amanda claims she saw Lance, he added: "Now I really don't think this is Amanda - we shot Love Wrecked together 7 years ago and she was just at my bday party 3 years ago. Hmmm 11?"

Lance and Amanda were once friends

The pair formed a friendship in 2005 when Amanda starred in film Love Wrecked which was produced by Lance.

And while she may have made another enemy in the singer, she recently reached out to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton who she previously urged to kill himself and "stop living".

Amanda again signed on to Twitter to hit out at Perez after reading an article about him on his website.

She wrote: "No one wants to suck your d**k! Stop living! Kill yourself… I look sooooo much better than the girl you hired to look like an awful cheeky version of me!"

However, Amanda then took her harsh words back and attempted to make peace with the writer just like she did with Rihanna after she called her "ugly" last week.

Amanda wrote to Perez: "You're not ugly! I was lying because we haven't talked in person in a long time. Please stop being mean on Twitter! Thx!"

Meanwhile, the star's neighbours in the luxury apartment where she lives in New York have spoken out about the actress claiming Amanda's strange behaviour is often witnessed by residents.

Police recently visited the Biltmore tower block after it was reported the former child star may have been in possession of drugs.

One neighbour told the New York Post: "She stares you out in the elevator. Residents are terrified to be alone with her. She knocked on one woman's door, and when it opened, she screamed, 'You're ugly,' and ran away.

"Amanda always seems to be alone muttering to herself and looking completely out of it… The day before her arrest she arrived in a cab and ran upstairs, leaving the driver shrieking that she owed him $150.

"She left her cellphone in the cab. The good news is, she hasn't be en seen in the building since her arrest."

However, her shocking public meltdown has continued as the star recently launched another spiteful rant on Twitter.

Chrissy Teigen called for people to “support” the troubled actress and criticised those encouraging Amanda’s downfall.

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model alluded to Amanda and wrote: “Support people with mental illness, yes. But don't condone/enable scary and poor behavior.”

The stunning 27-year-old’s tweet sent Amanda into a rage who responded with her own much longer post, saying Chrissy was “not a pretty model compared to me” and accused her of being “jealous”.

She ranted: "Ur not a pretty model compared to me. I signed to Ford models @ age 13. I don't look up to u beauty wise.

“I'm far prettier than u! I'm offended that you're saying I have a mental illness when I show no sign of it, but thankfully not one man that wants me wants you and you are an old ugly model compared to me!"

She continued: "You look 45! You're not pretty so I'm not intimidated by you! I think you're jealous that you're just an ugly model whos career is uninspiring! I don't respect you! You're no beauty queen! I'm a beauty queen."

Chrissy didn’t  directly reply to the attack and instead told her 240,000 followers on Twitter: “Nope. Not going to indulge. Wish the best for her, truly.

“I never ask anything of you guys but please. I don't need defending and please stop writing her. It's not funny, it's sad.”

She’s not the only person to have a keyboard bashing from the former Disney star, Courtney Love was also victim of trolling from Amanda.

Amanda, 27, fumed:  “Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen. To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!”

Courtney â€" widow to rocker Kurt Cobain â€" tried her best to reassure the damaged star.

The 48-year-old said: “Will you people lay off on giving this girl such grief? Shes a beautiful talented young woman, we all go through our ups and downs. grow up!”

She went onto explain: “Amanda, I wasn't attacking you love, I've been in your shoes before, wasn't easy. DM me, let's talk. Ignore the haters.”

Amanda caused outrage after appearing t o tweet a racist remark at popstar Rihanna and suggesting she was assaulted by Chris Brown because she "isn't pretty enough" - but later denied the posts and claimed it was fake.

The incident adds to a growing and concerning list for the damaged star.

She was arrested last week for allegedly throwing a foot-long marijuana bong out of the window of her 36th floor New York apartment.

Amanda, who revealed a shaved head in her police mug shot, wore a bizarre blonde wig as she was handcuffed and shackled at the feet to be led from her apartment.

The police had arrived to speak to Amanda, after concerns were apparently raised, and she allegedly threw the pot-smoking device out of the high-rise window in front of them.

She was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation at Roosevelt Hospital, before being taken to the police station where she was held for criminal of possession of marijuana, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence.

This is the latest incident in a series of worrying and erra tic events involving Amanda.

As well as piercing her face, the troubled actress been tweeting some, um, interesting messages of late. Including asking rapper Drake to "murder her vagina".

This isn't the first time Amanda has had a run in with the police. Literally a run in.

She was arrested back in April last year in LA for driving under the influence of alcohol after the black BMW she was driving hit a County Sheriff's Department patrol vehicle.

That's possibly the worst car you could crash into, then.

The All That actress has also been on probation for driving on a suspended license related to an incident in Burbank, California in 2012 in which her car was impounded.

The Easy A actress moved to New York to become a fashion designer last year. And possibly because they have much better public transport, reducing the need for her to drive.

She also revealed she is suing her family and previously wrote: “Also, never trust or listen to a word any person from my family says to the press.

“I am suing them for money laundering/unethical manager work, I never signed a contract with them, and they had been stealing my money without me knowing, claiming they were managing me somehow when they have no right to act as if they did anything to help or enhance my career and I want $ back that I earned on my own.

“I'm 27 and don't like when press talks to my parents.

“My parents are almost 70 years old. We are no longer on speaking terms.

“I would rather them be homeless than live off of my money.”
