But it wasn’t a fancy red carpet event or showbiz shindig â€" Kim Kardashian was celebrating the news she’s having a daughter at her baby shower yesterday.
The Kardashian family and friends were joined by stars including Spice Girl Mel B, Kelly Osbourne, Tracy Anderson and Kimberly Stewart.
While the fun celebration should have been a casual affair, momager Kris Jenner imposed strict rules for guests, er, privileged enough to be invited.
An insider revealed how celebs had to “hand over their mobile phones on arrival†so no pictures of the event would be leaked until they received Kim’s mum’s approval.
Meanwhile grumpy boyfriend Kanye West appeared to be hiding his face from photogra phers as he arrived at the venue.
He was criticised after missing Kim’s scan when doctors revealed the couple are having a baby girl and didn’t exactly look overjoyed to be getting involved this time.

The mum-to-be confessed she “really wants†to eat the placenta when she gives birth, much to her mum’s shock.
And not missing the opportunity for a rude joke when the doctor joked he couldn’t see a “pee-pee†when assessing the baby’s gender, Kim said: “It definitely would take after his father so you would see it.â€

Meanwhile, betting has been suspended on Kimye giving their baby girl a name beginning with K, according to Labrokes.
The bookmaker reckon Krystal (10/1) is the most likely choice, followed closely by Kirsten (12/1), Kara, Kacey and Kaitlin (all 14/1).
Odds that K im will name her child after herself is 20/1, which wouldn't exactly be the biggest surprise.
But while there's confetti and congratulatory messages being shoved in her direction, her pregnancy hasn't been without its stress.
She was bizarrely - and quite cruelly - accused of faking her pregnancy in a money making scheme.
It was alleged she was piling on the pounds to look preggers before shedding the weight and releasing a fitness DVD.
Obviously that was proven to be utter madness and a source close to Kim told us she was extremely hurt and upset by the accusations.
It won't be long until Kim is showing off her famous curves in skimpy bikinis, Instagram has definitely been a less naked place without her.
