Big Brother trailer reveals new exciting Secrets and Lies theme

Big Brother trailer reveals new exciting Secrets and Lies theme

They love a twist over at Big Brother and the new series - starting nightly on Channel 5 in the second week of June - is no exception. And this year the twist is a whole big theme for the whole series - 'Secrets and lies' - and given that most of BB is about keeping/spilling secrets and accidentally/purposefully telling big old lies, we think it's a pretty good one. But we're guessing that as it's the overarching theme for the whole show, there will be even more intense secret and lie action than ever.

Good-o.

According to the people in the know the show will be "harder and harsher as the housemates are subjected to countless twists, turns and tough tasks. Suspicion will be rife as Housemates attempt to untangle Big Brother’s web of secrets and lies. How will they separate the fact from the fiction and do they have secrets of their own?" Ooh, we do hope so. Basically everyone should have at least three big ones each.

There's also a slightly bizarre environmental twist, as the programmey people explain. "In the house it’s all about self-sufficiency and recycling. As the housemates enter through the front doors they will be greeted by a huge feature wall containing recycled life size front doors. But what do they signify and what lies behind them? The sweeping staircase will take them down into an eco-style living space. Although impressive in appearance, this house is not a hotel and provides a tougher environment than ever before." Which means more crying housemates. Hurrah! Oh, and you know it's good that they'll be using less energy and saving the earth and stuff.

Secrets and lies are good, but will they have a naked Rylan holding his bits?

This year the live shows are hosted by Emma Willis, while Big Brother’s Bit On the Side (Monday to Friday after Big Brother) has a new line up as with Rylan Clark and AJ Odudu joining Mrs Actual Matt Willis as presenters. There’s also a new show on Saturday night  after the show called Big Brother’s Bit On The Psych where a panel of experts and psychologists will analyse the behaviour of the housemates across the week (ace - we always love the psychology bits). And for hardcore BB fans live streaming is back nightly from 7-9pm on 5*.

Also, the hashtag for the show is #WHATSTHESECRET so look out for that on Twitter. Or tweet it. If you fancy.
