Union J are the latest X Factor act to sign a record deal after the foursome secured a contract with RCA Records.
A statement from them read: âWe are absolutely thrilled to be signed to RCA. Being on X Factor was such a great experience and the perfect way for us to start our musical journey.
âHopefully 2013 will an amazing year for us and we cannot wait for everyone to hear our music.â
The boys have already started recording some material and are expected to release their first single in June through the Sony subsidiary.
Â
Last month Jaymi Hensley revealed they were joining the group, which Simon Cowell is a boss at, but didnât confirm which label they would sign to.
JJ Hamblet, Josh Cuthbert and Jaymi were originally in band Triple J when they entered last yearâs X Factor.
Â
On the advice of Sharon Osbourne and judge Louis Walsh they joined forces with George Shelley, who had gone into the competition as a solo artist, which seemed to go down very well with the squealing girls in the audience each week.
Jahmene Douglas, the showâs runner up, also signed with RCA , while Ella Henderson joined Simonâs label Syco.
