ÂPosing alongside beaming bar owners Barry and Ross in the TOWIE heartlands of South Woodford, Pamela Anderson must have felt a million miles away from her glamorous Malibu home.
Outside Funky Mojoe, a favourite haunt of Leyton Orient footballers and reality TV hopefuls, her driverâs engine is still running as he waits for the moment the cringeworthy personal appearance is over â" and she will emerge £15,000 the richer.
But as Dancing On Iceâs biggest star is whisked back to her lavish hotel in the slightly plusher surroundings of Mayfair, all is not well.
Pamela, it would appear, âdoes not do Essexâ.
âPamelaâs people made it clear in no uncertain terms that she wasnât Âaltogether relaxed with either the location or the type of clientele,â says a source.
âItâs not really her sort of place.â
So what makes Pammie â" who once raked in millions as popular CJ Parker in Baywatch â" swap the comforts of her Califor nia beach pad for a tacky night out with Essexâs finest?
Two words: The taxman.
Last year, the actress was ordered to pay £184,281 in back taxes to the US government.
They also slapped a court order on her home to prevent her from selling it until the arrears were cleared.
Itâs not the first time she has faced tax troubles. In 2009 she was hit with a bill for £1million.
Publicly, at least, Pammie, 45, is trying to put a brave face on things.

âIâm not trying to avoid any tax Âobligation,â she insists. âCertain events occurred, outside of my control, which caused this temporary but embarrassing situation. All of my tax obligations will be resolved in the very near future.â
Last year, builders working on the exhaustive renovation of her Malibu home claimed she still owed them £623,844, which Pammie denied.
As well as nightclub appearances â" for which she can earn between £8,000 and £15,000 for up to two hours âworkâ â" her precarious financial situation has seen her accepting a string of random jobs including playing the Genie of the Lamp in Aladdin in Liverpool last year.
But despite her predicament, Miss Anderson doesnât scrimp on the exacting standards she expects when she does take up a job offer.
Take her demands when it comes to nightclub meet-and-greets.
Firstly, she doesnât like photos unless theyâre taken with a ring flash â" a flattering photogra phic device to soften the subjectâs features and create a halo effect.
In fact, such is her hatred of the humble mobile phone photo that her people instruct club owners to try to ban people from wielding them near her.
A HARD task, youâd imagine, when faced with hundreds of boozed-up revellers clamouring for her Âattention in a confined space.
âPamela is very clear what she does and doesnât want. Her image is very important to her and unflattering photos with wrong cameras are a big no-no,â says a friend.
Other demands include a £1,000-a-night suite at The Dorchester Hotel, first-class cars â" definitely no âcheap mini-cabsâ â" and champagne, both at the venue and waiting in her room.
The pal added: âBecause she is so in demand, every whim is catered for.
The prospect of Pammie in your club not only gets people through the door but incredible publicity as well. Itâs a no-brainer.â
Itâs little wonder that Pam is so used to the high life.

Propelled to global stardom at the age of 25, sheâs barely been out of the public eye since â" in no small part thanks to a stormy private life and THAT sex tape made with rocker Tommy Lee.
Pamela married the Motley Crue drummer in 1995 after knowing him for 96 hours then filed for divorce twice before reconciling each time.
The couple finally broke up permanently in 2000.
After tattooed hellraiser Tommy, Pamela wed bad boy rapper Kid Rock in July 2006 but filed for divorce four months later.
In October 2007, Pamela married ÂHollywood lothario Rick Salomon but they separated just two months later and she sought a divorce, citing fraud.
Itâs thought sheâs now single but, according to Dancing On Ice insiders, sheâs âkeeping her cards close to her ample chestâ.
Given her chaotic personal life, itâs no surprise other aspects of her life run less than smoothly.
She once hinted that she wanted to KILL herself over her dis astrous home renovations â" which saw her move temporarily into a caravan.
âI am $ 3million (£1.87million) over budget and I should have moved in over a year ago,â she moaned.
âIâm tiling the whole pool in platinum â" thatâs expensive.â

She even admitted to SOBBING when she visited the house, which she bought for £850,000, adding: âIâm going to sell it.
"I hate it. People commit suicide over constructions. Relationships break down over constructions and I can see why.â
Even her three-week stint in panto â" for which she reportedly earned £52,000 a week â" was beset with problems.
Despite ticket sales soaring by 800%, she racked up more debt by instructing staff to go on a spending spree.
During the run she allegedly failed to cough up for several Primark onesies which were sent to her sons, Brandon and Dylan.
She also reportedly owed £6,900 for travel costs and goods including sanitary items, Tic Tacs, six coffee cups, shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion and make-up bags.
As Pammie partners pro Matt Evers tomorrow night, ITV bosses are expecting her to transform Dancing On Ice from ratings wannabe to ratings winner.
And after shelling out a six-figure fee to secure her services, theyâre putting their money where their mouth is.
Letâs just hope expenses are included.
