The singer's year gets off to a cracking start with news that she's up for FOUR gongs
It's been a busy old day on the nomination announcement front.
Hot on the heels of this afternoon's Oscar nominations, the list of BRIT Awards noms (as Rylan would say on CBB) has just been released - with the lovely Emeli Sande leading the race.
The Read All About It singer is up for Best British Female Solo Artist and Best Album for Our Version Of Events.
She also has not one, but TWO nominations in the Best Single category, for Next To Me and Beneath Your Beautiful, the Labrinth song to which she lent her rather lovely vocal chords.
It's fair to say that 2012 was pretty good for Emeli, what with the best selling album of the year under her belt and the little matter of performing at both the Opening AND Closing Olympic Ceremonies.
And today's news means that 2013 looks to be continuing down the same happy path.
The news was celebrated by the singer herself with an enthusiastic tweet.
She posted: "To everyone that's been there si nce the critics choice and years before that THANK YOU!!!"
That's three exclamation marks, so we figure she's pretty chuffed.
Folk rock band Mumford and Sons came second in the 'who can get the most nominations' tussle, with four nominations.
The beautiful Rita Ora and Mercury Music prize-winning band Alt-J tied for third place, with three nominations a-piece.
Everyone's favourite boy band One Direction received two nominations, for Best British Group and Best Performers.
Muse, Paloma Faith, Plan B and Jessie Ware also got two nominations each.
And there's another nomination for Adele's Bond theme song, Skyfall - the tune, which is also nominated for an Oscar, is listed in the Best British Single category.
She's got competition, mind - the other names in the category read like a 'who's who' of British music, including Coldplay, Florence and the Machine, Jessie J, Rizzle Kicks, Robbie Williams, Olly Murs and even The X Factor's James Arthur.
Touchingly, Amy Winehouse - whose album Lioness: Hidden Treasures was released posthumously last year - received a nomination in the Best British Female category.
The winners of the awards will be announced at the evening of music and celebrity madness that is the BRIT Awards ceremony on 20 February.
Performers on the night will include One Direction, Robbie Williams, Muse, Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard and Emeli Sande - she'd best bring a big old holdall in case she cleans up.
