Vanessa Hudgens admits she wants to be treated like a princess by men as she discusses raunchy prostitute film role

Former High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens admits that she hopes her raunchy new film role will bury her Disney-created squeaky clean image for ever.

In the dark thriller The Frozen Ground, Vanessa, 24, strips to her underwear to play a pole dancer and prostitute.

“I just want to be able to try new things,” she says, “and transform myself so that audiences say, ‘I cannot believe that’s Vanessa Hudgens!’”

In The Frozen Ground, her character is beaten almost to death in an Alaskan motel room and Nicolas Cage’s state trooper believes she is the only surviving victim of a local serial killer.< /p>

It’s a far cry from the three High School Musical films and her romance with wholesome co-star Zac Efron that made her a household name.

Now she carefully chooses her roles.

“I’m very particular about the work I do,” says California-born Vanessa.

A bit saucy

 

“There’s a reason why I’ve had a ton of time off recently. I’m not going to do anything if I’m not in love with it.”

Her new darker role sees her hooking up with a succession of unsuitable men, but that’s not the case in real life.

“I have never liked bad guys,” Vanessa laughs.

“They’ve never held any appeal. I think it’s because I was a very shy child. I want to be treated like a princess.”
