Lea Michele was having a girlsâ night in with friends when she got the devastating call that boyfriend Cory Monteith was dead.
Co-star and girlfriend of the troubled Glee star Lea, 26, started âfreaking outâ according to pals and fled into hiding.
âLea was distraught. No one knew what to say, it was horrible. She couldnât believe it.â, a source told People magazine.
Lea had just got back from Mexico with Cory and was in a great mood according to pals.
Cory died in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13 after accidentally taking a toxic overdose of heroin and alcohol.
Friends said Lea fled from the house, terrifying she would be stalked by paparazzi after the news broke of Coryâs death.
"She needed to get out of her house, it was extremely emotional," says the source. "So she left and stayed in the home of her friend." Glee star Lea Michele is reportedly organising the funeral of her late boyfriend Cory Monteith.
The actress is said to have been incredibly protective of her beloved boyfriend when he was alive and has apparently taken the pressure off of his grieving mother by making the plans for the ceremony herself, according to TMZ.
Lea apparently attempted to take care of Cory when he was living in America and working in Hollywood but he is said to have struggled with his demons when he returned to his home country of C anada.
She also reportedly organised the intervention staged by her fellow Glee cast members and the show's crew when they encouraged Cory to enter rehab earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the actor's father Joe Monteith recently spoke out after he was only told about a viewing ceremony and cremation after it happened.
He told TMZ: "I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very, very much. I'm saddened at the fact I couldn't have been there to see my son before he was cremated."Â
The actor's body was released to his mother Ann on Tuesday after an autopsy was completed.
Cory's parents divorced when he was seven years old and the actor was brought up by his mother along with his brother Shaun.
Their father was often away with the military so they didn't often see him as children due to his work commitments.
