Christian Bale has ruled out appearing as Batman in any Justice League film â" and looks to have hung up the Caped Crusaderâs Batsuit for good.
The Dark Knight trilogy star - who took over the coveted part in 2005 for Batman Begins, Christopher Nolanâs first reboot of the iconic comic book character - declared that playing Bruce Wayneâs alter ego three times was âenoughâ, insisting that the role âshould be handed from one actor to anotherâ.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the Pembrokeshire-born thesp warned against going back to the blockbuster well too many times.
"We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. Thatâs enough. Letâs not get gre edy," he is reported to have said.
Later in the same interview, the 39-year-old added: "It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."
Â
The Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actor also maintained that he had not been approached to be a part of any ensemble project to bring DC Comics favourites such Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to the big screen.
"I have no information, no knowledge about anything,â he said.
âI've literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that's it."
