Jay Z says dealing crack cocaine on the streets taught him business skills for life

Jay Z has opened up about where he got his sharp business mind.

But somehow I don’t think he’ll be releasing get-rich-quick book about it.

Cos the rap mogul, who’s worth a whopping £375million, reckons his early days of dealing crack cocaine on the streets of Brooklyn was great work experience.

Hmm, not one to try at home kids.

He says: “I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up.

“If you want to start some sort of barbershop or carwash â€" those were the businesses back then.

“Things you can get in easily to get out of that life.”

Speaking to Vanity Fair, 43-year-old Jay outlined the importance of a get-out plan.

He adds: “You have to have an exit strategy, because your window for dealing drugs is very small.

“You’re going to get locked up or you’re going to die.”

Real talk.
