Strictly dining: Chews your partner for Beeb spin-off

Strictly Come Dancing is to invite fans to come dining, the Sunday People can reveal.

BBC bosses are cashing in on the show's success by launching a series of glamorous dinners.

Fans will be offered a five-star meal along with a performance by celebrities and one-to-one tuition from the pro dancers.

A source said: "This is going to be an exciting experience for fans.

The event will be like a mini convention and 500 to 1,000 people will be attending in one go."

The lavish evenings next year are being organised by the Beeb's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide.

They have registered the name Strictly Come Dining and are keen to get as many of the show's famous faces on board as possible. The source added: "Organisers are hoping to launch for Valentine's Day but it may be a series of summertime balls in luxury country homes."

Tickets will start at £50 and go up depending on s eating and requests by fans for one-to-ones. The BBC1 show, which has 11 million viewers, is a global brand and generates more than £300million a year.

BBC Worldwide said: "We do not use licence fee income to operate and reinvest all our profits back into the BBC."
